Oasis for Kids, Inc is an education based non-profit. It teaches OHV riding skills, mechanical education and environmental respect. We are applying to the CA State Off Highway Motor Vehicle Division for a grant to sustain an on-going project located at the sports facility in Bolinas, CA at 100 Mesa Road. We will provide safety equipment for all students like helmets, gloves, boots, shirts, pants, goggles and gloves. Our project is based on a 50-year association with young people from Marin. Our project will meet with the young people on weekends, after school and during their summer months.
Members of the public shall have the opportunity to comment on the Preliminary Application no later than the first Tuesday following the first Monday in March. Members of the public can use the following website link to make comments on the application,

June 2022 Update: Thanks to all that contributed to the GoFundMe effort to get a new van to carry youth on our camp outings to mentor youth! Unfortunately, we did not reach our goal to be able to replace the old van and upon Oasis For Kids Founder Dave Duffin passing in 2021 this fundraising ended as incomplete. There will be a new fundraising effort forthcoming for a new van by the Oasis For Kids LLC board, which is made up of Oasis For Kids Alumni, to enable a program return to camping trips to Black Rock, Nevada that included Astronomy, Conservation and Rocket building education, as well as a core focus on teaching cooperative teamwork to give the skills and understanding youth need to know on how to cook for themselves, clean up and leave no trace or trash, take care of themselves, the land, respect and appreciate nature and enjoy a electronic free sanctuary in nature!

Oasis for Kids, Inc. is a non-profit travel and learning adventure for 8-14 year olds. We take 12 kids for a trip to the Nevada desert for a week of inspiration and education. We began this program 50 years ago at a Northern California K-8 school. For the past 50 years we developed a variety of tours to the Mojave and Nevada deserts. We tracked the students from these trips, got great response from the families and realized that others could profit greatly from the same experience.
We incorporated our ideas into a 501 (c) (3) education based corporation in October 2004.
Our tours balance adventure, study, fun, personal challenges and getting along with each other. Our Bolinas based facility teaches kids to maintain and repair dirt bikes to help them improve their confidence, accountability, responsibility, volunteerism, and give them a broader understanding of the technical world beyond cell phones, video games and television.
